IQF Production Supervisor

Position Purpose

This position has direct supervision responsibility for assisting with all operational, technical, and maintenance in an MBG IQF/RTE East Coast Packing Facility.

Organizational Relationships

The Production Supervisor reports directly to the IQF/RTE Facility Manager.
Other significant staff relationships with the COO, MBG CFO, Director of Sunbelt Business Unit, Great Lakes Director of Operations, Manager of Supplies and Logistics, Manager of Information Systems, and Programmer/Analysts.
During season, oversees up to 50 seasonal agency employees.
Significant other relationships with growers delivering product, transportation, and Naturipe Foods/Farms employees.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Operations Management
Planning and execution of IQF packing of product in Alma plant.
Including but not limited to:
production, production planning, raw fruit and final product grading and analysis, maintenance, and cost control. .
Assist with hiring, training and supervising qualified personnel to carry out duties and job requirements as described in the job descriptions prepared for each area.
Run product the most efficient ways, while maintaining the highest degree of quality.
Assist in the operation and Maintenance of the on-site RTE facility as instructed by the Facility Manager.

Fruit Management/Fresh and Process
Assist with projecting volumes of incoming process fruit on annual, weekly, and daily basis, and communicate this information to the facility manager.
Assist the implementation of daily and weekly pack and production planning. Assist Great Lakes manager in transportation and inventory of raw product and lugs.
Assist with development and implementation of efficient fruit inspection systems to assure quality of product and facilitate the delivery of fruit received to the appropriate customer.
Coordinate fruit movement and logistics within MBG warehouses and designated storage facilities.
Manage the cooling, storage, and shipping of process fruit, when appropriate.
Manage and maintain accurate IT fruit inventory systems.

Packing Supply Management
Coordinate the logistics, distribution, and storage of packing supplies.
Manage supply inventory systems to accurately track and bill all supply items.

Quality Assurance and Food Safety
Assist with implementing and scheduling third-party food safety programs and audits for the facility.
Plan and maintain proper employee training systems to insure continued food safety and quality.

Quantitative Data/Job Dimensions

Hire and oversee activities of 22 to 50 seasonal employees.
Coordinate process pack plan of 240,000 pounds per day of IQF berries through the facility.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Minimum high school diploma; two-year degree or minimum five years' experience in production of agriculture, fruit production, or operations functions preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2000 applications is required.
Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Outstanding prioritization, self-motivation, stress management and time management skills are essential.

A proven ability to work successfully with a variety of people.
Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds.
Demonstrated presentation skills in order to train staff and make presentations during monthly work-group meetings.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
